Before phoning our laptop repair service there are a few basic checks you can carry out yourself.
- Is your machine is properly connected to the power or does it have a charged battery?
- Is the machine simply in hibernate or standby mode, designed to save power but appearing to be in a 'not-working' state?
- Dim screen settings can have a similar effect.
- The machine could have been set to 'external display only' in order to make a presentation for example.
- A disk in the drive at start up can produce a message suggesting the machine is faulty.
It may also be helpful for our engineers to have a record of any recent updates or special tasks carried out on your laptop.
